A few months ago, Rayburn encouraged me to write a two-minute story that could be used to share Christ. Most people will give you two minutes to tell them a story, but this is not just any story. It is the greatest story that one could ever share. May I have two minutes of your time to share the greatest story…….EVER!
For God so loved the world that He gave his only son. You may ask, Why? In the beginning, God created all that we enjoy today. He also created man and felt that man needed a helpmate, so He created woman. They lived in a happy place, perfect in every way. In this happy place, they walked and talked with God. Satan knew this and decided he was going to upset God’s plan. So, he deceived Eve in being dissatisfied. She decided she wanted to be God and ate the forbidden fruit. Adam, loving Eve also ate. It was this disobedience that man would experience DEATH and SEPARATION FROM GOD.
This sinful state of man is shown throughout scripture; Noah and The Flood, Sodom and Gomorrah, just to name a few. BUT GOD had a plan and that plan was loving this world through His son, Jesus. Jesus, born of a virgin, laid in a manger as a host of angels proclaimed this to the shepherds. Jesus, on a mission from heaven to die. Why? Because of God’s amazing love for us. Jesus came to die so that we could have life. He lived a sinless, perfect life. Willingly died on the cross paying the penalty for our sins. HE BECAME OUR SINS! Then victoriously defeating death. No way could a tomb contain GOD ALMIGHTY! All of this, because God so loved the world, He gave his only son. That believing in Him would mean EVERLASTING LIFE.
The greatest story is that God loved a sinner like me, like you. And if I could take Jesus out of my heart and place Him in yours, you would never give Him back.
