I was praying for Rayburn as I was folding his clothes. It was a habit I started for him and each of our children. To this day, I still love to fold clothes. When our nest was full, I would sort each of their clothes into their own basket. As I began to fold for that child, I would pray for specific needs for that child.  If not any, which was rare, then as I folded their socks, I would pray over those feet and where those feet would take them. I would pray that they wouldn’t take for granted being clothed in Jesus’ righteousness, because each one of our children had made a personal decision to be washed by the blood of the Lamb.

That prayer time was special, but too often felt as if I was falling short, not being on my knees. With the four children, life was so crazy. Having a thirteen year old, a ten year old, a three year old and an infant, there were times, I didn’t know if I was coming or going. I just kept adding tape to that knot I was swinging from.

Life can have us spinning in circles. With life spinning, take time and spend with Jesus. Be creative! We do not serve a god that is in a box. No right way or wrong way.

If you have creative ways of how you spend time in prayer, please share. We will learn together. With that said, I have a load of clothes to fold and some praying to be done!

Phil 4:6, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”

Rom 8:26, “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us.”

Eph 6:18, “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayer and request. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.”
