Probably one of the most asked questions about life is, “Why am I here?” or “Who am I?” Somewhere in life, different times for each of us, we start wondering what our purpose is and where we fit in this world. Once those questions come, the inner self becomes restless. Many people spend time and effort as well as money trying to find what will bring satisfaction or fulfillment to satisfy those inner feelings and unanswered questions.
I believe that the feeling of uncertainty about where we belong and who we are is natural and actually put there by God. I read something recently that said over 50% of people are in a job situation they hate or at least just tolerate. It’s not something they really want to spend the rest of their lives doing and are looking ahead to what’s next. If that’s true, half of the workforce goes to a job they dislike making money to pay bills, and then find a way to keep doing it day after day and maybe even year after year. Ultimately, they find very little satisfaction in life. This is where an unfulfilled life creates so much inner struggle. What I believe is that it is impossible to live life with true meaning and inner peace apart from Jesus Christ. Psalms 100:3 says, “Know that the Lord Himself is God; It is He who has made us and not we ourselves.” What that means to me is only God can answer the most important questions about life, Who am I? Why am I here? That’s why, when we look for those answers anywhere but in God, it will lead to an unfulfilled life and a restless inner spirit.
The search for life’s meaning, without starting with God first, will lead you into a search for something that cannot be found. That’s why so many people live every day without joy or inner peace, questioning What I am doing with my life? Genesis 1:1 says, “In the beginning God…” Life as we know it begins with God and any attempt to find meaning apart from God is futile. Jesus promises us an abundant life. John 10:10 says there is a thief always trying to rob you of that life. It begins with believing Jesus is your answer. The whole platform of JoinWithMe.life is to bring Jesus to the world.
I read something that says if we succeed at doing the wrong thing with our lives, we really have failed. I see people every day living life apart from Jesus Christ. I can’t say that I have all the answers to life, but I can say with absolute certainty that I know who does. Start today seeking the Father first and I promise He has every answer to life that you need.
Today I’m simply trying to bring Him to you. To seek Him first, as I am trying to seek Him first in my own life. I’m asking you to JOINWITHME as we seek life together.
