I believe, we cannot survive in this world without Jesus. Without HIM, we merely exist. HE IS OUR HOPE. Hope for NOW! Hope for the future! With Jesus, there is HOPE. Yes, right now! Yes, HOPE in this present time, which gives us POWER to live. It is HIS POWER in us that enables us to power through whatever is weighing us down. That obstacle that seems like Mount Everest. That fear, only you know, because it is hidden so deep in the depths of your soul. BUT take comfort, NOTHING IS HID FROM HIM. Or that sadness that squeezes your heart until the tears flow. It could be that bitter experience that bites, and the fangs continue to suck the very life out of your soul. You are not alone!
We can be lifted by the sweet promises found in God’s Word. Jeremiah 29:11, “For I KNOW the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a HOPE and a future.” Deuteronomy 31:6 states, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your GOD goes with you; HE WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU NOR FORSAKE YOU.” The key, to this is, A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD. You MUST CHOOSE HIM. He longs to give you the power to LIVE and not merely exist.
I read once that if we look around, we will be distressed. If we look within, we can be depressed. BUT IF WE LOOK TO JESUS, the author and finisher of our faith, we will be blessed.
Whitney Daugherty wrote, “God, help me to focus on Truth instead of trial. Help me to give thanks instead of giving into fear. Help me to choose joy instead of anger. Help me to trust in your power instead of my plan. Help me to elevate YOUR NAME instead of my own.”
Our power lift begins when we lift our eyes off ourselves and set our gaze on Jesus.
