We are celebrating Easter. I love Easter. I love what Easter represents. Spring…. NEW LIFE! The trees that look like dead sticks, start budding new life. The flower bulb’s green life breaks through the ground heated by the Sun. New life in the form of eggs, in a bird’s nest, that a momma bird warms as she, for hours, covers with her body. How about those little grass bunnies? A momma rabbit gives birth to these bunnies and off at a short distance will watch, keeping the prey away. I love the colors of Spring, the cool mornings and then the warmth of the day. These are gifts from God. His creation for us to enjoy and yes, they do bless our lives in many ways, BUT NOTHING IS GREATER THAN THE GIFT OF HIS LOVE. This gift given, His only Son, Jesus.
Jesus, was born of a virgin, lived a perfect life, died on a cruel cross and claimed victory of death, WHY? Because God loved us so much. He knew, because of our sin, the ONLY WAY for us to spend all eternity with HIM was to sacrifice HIS SON, JESUS. That day, our sins were nailed to the cross. IT WAS NOT THE NAILS THAT HELD HIM THERE, BUT HIS LOVE FOR US! A love so full and free, for you, for me. With outstretched arms, welcoming us, calling out to us, “Oh sinner, come home.” Jesus paid the ultimate price for our gift of life. HIS LOVE, so amazing and yes, NOBODY LOVES US, LIKE YOU LOVE US, JESUS…. NOBODY!
