Oh, to be engulfed by arms of love!
I texted our granddaughter, Grace and told her that I needed some “bear” hugs. It wasn’t long after that text, that I received a text from our daughter, Carmen that she was bringing Carter and Grace to our home. YES, and I was engulfed in those sweet arms of love. A sweet, much needed, welcome!
II Peter 1:11, mentions the rich welcome we can receive in heaven. The verses that precede that verse gives us incite to that desired welcome.
We as believers have a choice to live in such a way that others are encouraged. Others, being believers and unbelievers. How do we encourage? By possessing faith, goodness, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, affection and LOVE. God’s Word admonishes us to increase these qualities in our life. In doing so, we can be an effective witness for Him and one day receive that rich welcome.
Until I am engulfed in my Heavenly Father’s arms, I will, by HIS MERCY AND GRACE, choose to encourage, choose to love and choose to live for my Savior. And YES, enjoy immensely, those earthly “bear hugs.”
