What if our “exercise” was to improve our relationship with Jesus?
You can go to the gym, drink your water, eat good, take your vitamins, but IF you do not deal with the stuff going on in your heart and in your head, YOU ARE STILL GOING TO BE “UNHEALTHY” and “UNFIT.” Romans 14:17, “For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.” When a baby is being formed in the mother’s womb, what is the first thing they search for? The heart beat, the rhythm of life to be present. It is formed first. It is critical. The brain doesn’t fully develop until after birth.
Our heart is a muscle. It needs to be “exercised” daily. It’s a muscle that needs to be stretched. It needs to grow. It needs time to heal. It needs to be loved. It needs to rest. It needs courage. It needs kindness. It needs identity. And it is constantly saying, “FEED ME!”
There is an energy/intelligence of the heart that is stronger than the mind. It’s scientifically proven. It is the very center of who we are, who we are created to be. “So above all, guard the affections of your heart, for they affect all that you are. Pay attention to your innermost being, for from there flows the wellspring of LIFE.” Proverbs 4:23. WOW! God is trying to give us newness, “delight in me and I will give you the desires of your heart!” Psalm 37:4 That means our desires are HIS and when we turn to him and believe that, HE FOLLOWS THROUGH. HE WILL SHOW UP AND SHOW OFF. It is for the growth of not only ourselves, BUT HIS KINGDOM!
How does he transform our heart? Next week join with me as we dive into God’s HOLY WORD. In the mean time, exercise and worship God at the same time. Singing, jumping, running, stretching, walking for HIS GLORY!
