I absolutely love walking outside. I love walking down a clear path especially in the woods. There are times that a path is not clear. Obstacles to cross, maybe even constantly looking for those slithering creatures lurking in the leaves or hanging from a tree.
This to me is an example of life. Some pathways are uncharted. Many intersecting and some that never seem to end.
On these pathways, believers have their “ticket” into heaven. For some, that is good enough for them. Many of the choices made, which often affect the paths, are made without any thought of Jesus. Many do not take thought, that Jesus is as much a part of the journey as he is the destination…..and we wonder why “life” is so very hard! He is our friend that sticks closer than a brother, our sustainer, our joy giver. HE IS OUR COMPASS and he is left out. In I Thessalonians 2:12, we are admonished to walk worthy of God. This cannot be done if he is left out of our pathway choices. Those choices will determine the path taken. There are times when unexpected life happens which puts us on a different path. Those we have no control over and simply must trust and continue to daily walk in faith believing. Oft times, we walk and never ask for guidance then realizing our fate, we cry out to God, sending out an SOS. There are many pathways that come to a fork in the road. One has no clue which path to take. That is when you sit down on a bench and BE STILL and wait. God is God and he will talk with you. Many times it is through HIS WORD that guidance is given.
For many pathways, it is our choice and WE MUST CHOOSE WISELY! Jesus wants to be, He longs to be walking alongside us, daily, moment by moment. He longs to be our life through this life, not just a “ticket,” when life is over.
Psalm 37:23-24 “The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand.”
Deuteronomy 31:6 “Be Strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. “
I Chronicles 16:11 “Look to the Lord and his strength, seek HIS face always.”
Hebrews 10:23 “Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for HE who promised is faithful.”
Psalm 16:8 “I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With Him at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.”
Trust these verses will encourage your heart as they have mine as we walk the pathways of our journey…..final destination, HEAVEN!
